Dennis Appelhons served in the U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery 1968-1971. He was deployed to South Korea as a member of a direct support platoon providing 24-hour maintenance and troubleshooting electronic problems to maintain Nike Hercules missiles in a "Ready to Fire” status for six U.S. missile bases.  State-side he served at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Alabama, and Ft. Bliss, El Paso, Texas.
