VFW Post 9668 has promoted and sponsored the scholarships Patriot's Pen (6th - 8th grade students) and Voice of Democracy (9th - 12th grade students). The 2022-2023 School year theme's are: Patriot Pen; "My Pledge to Our Veterans". Voice of Democracy; "Why IS The Veteran Important?".
Teacher of the Year for K-5th, 6th - 8th and 9th - 12th grades classes. VFW Citizenship Education program stimulates interest in America's history, traditions, Americanism, civic responsibility, flag etiquette and patriotism.
This year, 2022-2023, Post 9668 joined in the Scout of the Year Program. Post 9668 will be looking into adding the Johnston Boy Scout Troop in the 2022-2023 program year and sending forward 2 Eagle Scouts to 5th District and hopefully Department/State and on to VFW National.
