Enlisted in the Air Force in April 1968. Basic Training at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX, and Advanced Training at Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, TX. Stationed at Forbes AFB, Topeka, KS, until September 1969. I was shipped to Vietnam at that time, stationed at Danang AFB. Was wounded during a heavy rocket attack. After 1 year left for Travis AFB in Fairifeld, CA, where I left the AF in late 1971.

In 1982 I was able to get a full time position with the 132nd Fighter Wing, IA Air National Guard. Was also a Department of Defense employee during the week, had to be a member of the ANG. Served until 2001, Where I joined the California ANG and the 129th RQW at Moffett Federal Airfield in Mountain View,CA, June 2001.

 

Retired in 2006 with 32 years of service, deployments to Kuwait, South Korea, Japan, Germany, England, Kosovo (IAANG), and Kuwait, Turkey, and Iraq with the CAANG.
